HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL AT BLTC!

Festive Fun

Despite the dismal weather, there was a good turn-out for the activities arranged over the festive period. The Mistletoe and Wine Event saw a great afternoon playing tennis, supping mulled wine and eating mince pies. Well done to The Reindeers, who claimed victory against The Elves, helped by some expert knowledge and tactics in the quiz round!
The Festive Family Fun sessions also proved popular. Winners of the Adult/Junior Tournament were Steve and Thomas Butler with Christiane and Tamara Kuti as runners up. There were plenty of leftovers for the afternoon session too. Thank you to John Hall for running all these events.
The New Year’s Eve Party also went with a swing and was a fun, relaxed way to see in the new year. Many thanks to party organiser Linda Searles, DJ Mike Searles and barman David Hinwood for all their hard work.

Half’n’Half Quiz Night

Our next event is another of Martin Dawson’s popular Quiz Nights. This takes place on Saturday 23rd January. As the name suggests, it will be half trivia, half music. It starts at 7.30pm with tickets £4 (payable on the night), including nibbles. There is a sign up list in the clubhouse for tables of 8. Don’t worry if you don’t have a full team. Just sign up your names and we will do the rest.

Team Tennis

Hot off the press is the first team tennis table for this season.  Well done so far to The Scary Beetroots, but there is still all to play for.

Tennismark

Sport England have a way of recognising good standards and best practice at tennis venues in Britain. This accreditation is called Tennismark. It is important for tennis clubs to meet the standards set, both for their own professional development, but also to be able to access support from LTA.  Barnet LTC are pleased to announce that we have achieved this.
