Ladies and Men’s Nights
Our club sessions have nearly come to an end. This Tuesday is our last Ladies’ Night and Wednesday our final Men’s Night of the season, so do come along. The weather has not been kind this year but it’s looking good for the next few days! We hope that those who have attended have found them useful. From next week, members are still welcome to come along and play in. Ladies will continue to have priority on Tuesdays and Men on Wednesdays.
Club Finals Day
Our own Finals Day takes place on Saturday 16th July. This is the culmination of several weeks of competition, so please come along and support our finalists. Matches will commence from 12pm. If you are talented enough to have got through to a final, order of play will go out once all semi-finals have been played (which is often only the evening before!).
The bar will be open all afternoon and as well as the usual beverages there will be some tasty fruit punches on offer (with just a touch of alcohol!) to quench your thirst.
Once again, there will be a buffet throughout the day and members are asked to bring along a dish, savoury or sweet, to contribute.
To help the day run smoothly we also need volunteers. Firstly, if you could help behind the bar, just for an hour or two, please speak to Sheila Rice our Bar Manager. Secondly, it really makes the day feel more special if as many finals as possible are umpired. If you are willing to cover one of the matches, please get in touch with John or Doug.
Here’s hoping for good weather to complement some great tennis!
Junior Finals
Our juniors have their own Club Tournament which takes place from Tuesday July 19th with Finals Day on Saturday 23rd July. Please come along and support our budding champs.

Lofty Lofts LTA Tournament
Our Open LTA Tournament is taking place Monday 25th July to Saturday 30th July. Once again it is being sponsored by Lofty Lofts. This year the events include Junior, Men’s and Ladies’ Singles and Doubles. We would encourage more club members to enter this growing tournament, both adults and juniors – and for spectators to attend and make it a vibrant atmosphere. The tournament represents an opportunity for club members to compete at an LTA tournament run at their own club. If you feel that competing in our own club tournament has whetted your appetite for more tennis, we would encourage you to enter and enjoy a week of competition. Adult matches usually take place in the late afternoon/evening, and junior events take place during the day. The tournament is run by tournament organiser, Brenda Stewart (Middlesex LTA), aided by volunteers from the Club.
If you are interested in applying find out more on our website http://www.barnetltc.com/lofty-lofts-tournament/#lofty-lofts Closing date is 17th July.
Please note, there will still be courts available for our members at all times.
Family Quorn Competition
The Club is also delighted to announce that we will be hosting a Family Quorn Competition for the first time, to take place on Saturday 30th July. This is a doubles event open to any 2 family members of either sex - Aunts, Uncles, Mothers, sons etc. We look forward to it being a new and fun one-day event to be held at the Club.

Locking up
If you are a fob-holder, please check before leaving the club that there is someone else with a fob who will be able to lock up. We have had a couple of occasions where members have had to phone around to find someone! Could we also ask that whoever does lock up, checks that lights and electric fires are switched off and that the bar door is closed. Thank you.
